Class Description
 
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
(please scroll down for Fall Schedule and Yearly Event Calendar and Registration Form)



KINDER BALLET   
geared to the 4 year old with creative movement and beginning orientation to basic ballet concepts.  Coordination, rhythm and grace are developed at this age.  Class is 45 minutes long.


PRE-BALLET        geared to 5 and 6 year olds with emphasis on more structured ballet concepts, introducing terminology, correct placement and introduction to simple barre exercises.  Center work is geared toward basic movement principles in ballet and also creative movement. Class is 45 minutes long

BEGINNING BALLET

Level 1 - Age 6-7
Barre work and center exercises expanded from pre-ballet basics.  Class is one hour.

Level 2 - Age 7-9
Ballet technique expanded from concepts learned in Level 1.  Class is one hour and meets twice a week.

Level 3 - Age 9-10
Ballet Technique expanded from concepts learned in Level 2.  Class is 1 ½ hours and meets 2 times a week.

Level 4 - Age 11-13


Ballet technique includes pre-pointe and pointe curriculum.  Class is 1 ½ hours and meets 3 times a week.  Students who are twelve, have had at least three years of ballet and have a doctor's approval may begin pointe work. 

ADVANCED BALLET

Level 5 - Age 13 and Up

This is a pre-professional level and geared toward the student who desires serious study and is interested in a professional career in ballet.  The level includes ballet technique, pointe, variations, pas de deux and modern dance.

JAZZ
Intermediate and Advanced Jazz classes are offered for ages 11 and up.

Modern
Intermediate and Advanced Modern Dance classes are offered for ages 11 and up.
